What is the deadline for 2027 GMS Awards submissions?

The regular deadline for GMS Awards submission forms is November 20, 2026 with a final late deadline of December 9, 2026. The required audiovisual screening materials may be submitted prior to completion of the submission form, provided the titles are identically listed on both the submission form and the screener upload, but must be received by no later than 11:59pm PST on December 9, 2026 for the submission to be considered.

I sent my initial submission on time but I won’t have a screener until right before December 9, 2026.

As long as your submission is completed and paid for through Award Force in the appropriate window, screener materials just need to be submitted before Dec 9.

Do you grant extensions on entries?
No, we do not grant extensions beyond the late deadlines for submission forms and audiovisual screening materials. If you have questions about deadlines, please contact submissions@guildofmusicsupervisors.com

I worked on multiple projects this year, am I able to submit them all?
We encourage you to submit only the work that you feel is most deserving of award recognition. Please submit accordingly.

Will the GMS team be available for submission/tech support up until the submission form deadline?
We recommend completing your submission well in advance of the deadline in case any questions or technical issues arise. For all inquiries, please contact submissions@guildofmusicsupervisors.com

PAYMENT FAQ

A studio or production company offered to pay the submission fee for me. How do I set that up?

You have two options:
a) OPTION A - Pay now and get reimbursed
Pay with your own card at checkout. You'll automatically receive an invoice to screenshot and send to the studio or production company for reimbursement.
b) OPTION B - On the payment page, look in the bottom right corner for "Payment Methods" and select "Invoice." This lets you submit your entry without paying, and you'll receive an invoice to send to the studio or production company.
Note: With Option B, your submission isn't eligible until payment is received, so it carries more risk. Make sure the invoice is paid before the deadline.

CATEGORY & ELIGIBILITY FAQ

Can a non-member nominate a project for the GMS Awards?

Yes. GMS membership is not required for submission, however submission forms should be completed by the Music Supervisor(s) or someone who was directly involved in production, as submission questions require an in-depth knowledge of the project’s production and process.

I worked on a Television Musical or Limited Series. Can I submit?

Yes! Episodic Musical and Limited Series should be submitted in the Television genre category they best fit (Drama, Comedy, Reality). Kids and Family programming is also welcomed to be submitted for awards consideration.

My film screened in a commercial theater as part of a film festival, would that qualify as a commercial theatrical run?

Not currently.

Do short films qualify?

Not currently. All submitted films must be at least 70 minutes long to be eligible.

Are animated projects eligible?

Yes, as long as they meet all other eligibility requirements.

Do you accept international submissions?

Yes! The GMS Awards accepts submissions from anywhere in the world, provided they meet all other guidelines and eligibility requirements for the submitted category.

Can I submit a television series that is in its second or third season?

Yes. The GMS Awards television categories accept series from any current season airing during the qualifying eligibility period.

Can I submit to both drama and comedy categories for television?

You may only submit a title for either Best Music Supervision in a Television Drama or Best Music Supervision in a Television Comedy.

My television series submission has an original song. Can I submit for Best Song written and/or recorded for Television AND another category with the same Television series?

Yes. There is a limit of 3 submissions per title.
